Camp Fircom on Gambier Island was the perfect wedding location for Ben and Olive’s September celebration.
When Ben and Olive met, Ben was living in Seattle and Olive lived in Vancouver. If their goal was to join both of their families and communities together, this location provided a very intimate place to connect and celebrate their relationship.
During their ceremony, Olive described Ben as one of the nicest people she’s ever met. And it’s true, he just can’t stop smiling! Meanwhile, Ben described Olive’s desire to create a better world. And it’s apparent in all of the work she does.
The ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn of the campground surrounded by tiny houses where the guests slept in bunks with a view of the ocean and mountains. We were blessed with food and drink in an intimate hall and then moved back outside for the dancing.
Ben and Olive walked down the isle to all of the guests singing the Beatles ‘All You Need Is Love.’
“All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love, is all you need.”
Rosie and Loren’s Langley wedding ceremony and reception was at the Cascades Casino Hotel on September 1st.
Following the lovely ceremony, we headed to City Park near the Al Anderson Pool for pictures. It was a perfect sunny day for a wedding. Rosie and Loren have beautiful smiles and it was a joy to work with them.
Rosie and Loren met at summer camp as instructors. But this isn’t just any summer camp. Camp Goodtimes in Maple Ridge is a camp for children with cancer.
These two demonstrated their commitment and a deep sense of dedication for sharing their talents, experiences and big hearts with others. This was on full display at their wedding as they both were showered with stories of their need to give back to their communities.
Congrats to Rosie and Loren, and thank you to your family and friends for welcoming us as part of your celebration.
These are some wedding photos from a recent lakeside Muskoka wedding at the Port Cunnington Lodge and Resort in Ontario.
My dear friend Melanie was married on June 16th to her sweetheart Kevin. Mel and I met in Grade 9 in Sudbury, Ontario. I was thrilled to travel east to join them for their big day.
Mel and Kevin met working in the travel industry and their wedding was themed around their passion for world travel. Each table at the reception was seated according to a country where they had travelled.
They provided guests local treats such as blueberry jam, maple syrup and home made caramel sauce.
The weekend kicked off with a campfire and singing, followed by a beautiful day topped off with an outdoor ceremony on a dock.
The day was rounded off with photo booth for guests which was tons of fun!
As you’ll see, the lyrics for this couple’s first dance is perfect for these two:
“I’ll always follow my heart/ Where ever it takes me/ And until death do us part/ I’ll love you all over the world”
– Willie Nelson, I’ve loved you all over the world
I’ll be in Sudbury next summer, and am looking forward to seeing them again soon.
